The 14th day of June, 2008 was my "Gold Spike"
ceremony for the outdoor 7.5" gauge Timber Creek
Railroad The visitor Locomotives consisted of Two
GP-9's, one was an SP and the other was a WP; one
Southern Pacific Atlantic #3001; and my own
Timber Creek Railroad SW-1500 #1046. The actual
ceremony was after lunch and everyone
participated in driving in the Gold Spike. It
started at about 9AM and ended at about 4PM. A
good time was had by all. Pictures will be in the
TCRR outdoor RR album.

Road Crossing Signal

Finally got the grade crossing signal to work.
I insulated one side of the rail to allow the
train to act as a switch to activate the signal
as it passes the drive way.

of black spray paint that fell from the transfer
table and was puntured when it hit a sharp corner
and sprayed the table real bad.

Model Ships

Added a new catagory called Model Ships. I am in
the process of building another 1/4" scale
Destroyer like the #783 that is pictured in the
album. This ship will be a little different as it
is a Fletcher class (94 1/2" long) instead of the
Gearing class (97 1/2" long) pictured.
The one numbered 729 was my first ship that I
built back in the 70's and it is 1/2" scale at a
little under 8', at 92" long. The one's numbered
446 and 552 are Blue Devil Destroyers in 1/125
scale. They are later style Fletcher class
Destroyers. I own the 446, and my friend owns the
552.

Brakes...

I just received two sets of air brakes from MCC
and installed them on my gondola and tank car.
Now Train Mountain won't be bad coming down those
notorious grades! Now, my Engineer car is fully
utilized as I have air for the train brakes
(finally!!)and air for pumping water from my tank
car for fire fighting or filling a thirsty
steamer tender.
I've also finished letering and numbering the
rest of the rolling stock that I have in my train.
I'll have some pic's at a later date.
All for now.
